2026 Fall Community Education Classes

The wood turning classes offered through the Sioux Falls School District are a great opportunity for the club to help others learn or improve their wood turning skills. The next round of classes are scheduled and open for registration on the Community Education website.

These classes are offered through the Sioux Falls Community Education and the instruction is provided by members of the Siouxland Woodturning Club. The link to their online class catalog and sign-up is below.

Pens for the SD Military

At least once a year, the club holds a group build day to make writing pens. On December 14, 2021 Bill McGinnis of the Siouxland Woodturners presented 100 “M-16” writing pens to the Disabled American Veterans, the Society of the Purple Heart, and the Vietnam Veterans of America. These pens will be given as Christmas presents to the veteran patients in the Sioux Falls Veterans Hospital on Christmas Day. These pens were made by members of the Siouxland Woodturners at their meeting on December 4, 2021, at Harrisburg High School. Members of the Siouxland Woodturners appreciate the sacrifice that these veterans have made for our freedom.
